Frequently Asked Questions

What is a QR code?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a 2D barcode that can store various types of information like URLs, text, contact details, and more. It can be scanned using a smartphone camera or QR code reader app.

Are the QR codes generated by this tool permanent?

Yes! Our tool creates static QR codes that contain the information directly. They work forever and don't require any server or subscription. The QR code will work as long as the encoded data is still valid.

What is error correction and which level should I choose?

Error correction allows QR codes to be read even if they're partially damaged or obscured. Low (7%) is fine for digital use. Medium (15%) is recommended for general purposes. Quartile (25%) or High (30%) are better for print materials or if the code might get damaged.

Can I use custom colors for my QR code?

Yes! You can customize both the foreground (dark) and background (light) colors. However, ensure sufficient contrast between colors for reliable scanning. Very light foreground or dark background may not scan properly.

What's the difference between PNG and SVG downloads?

PNG is a raster image format good for web use and printing at a fixed size. SVG is a vector format that scales infinitely without quality loss, ideal for professional printing or when you need different sizes.

How do I create a WiFi QR code?

Select "WiFi" type and use this format: WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;; Replace "NetworkName" and "Password" with your actual network details. Change "WPA" to "WEP" or "nopass" for other security types.

Is there a limit to how much data I can encode?

QR codes can technically store up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters, but practical limits are lower. For best scanning, keep URLs under 200 characters and text under 500 characters. Larger data creates denser QR codes that are harder to scan.

Do these QR codes expire?

No! Unlike dynamic QR codes from some services, our QR codes are static and contain the data directly. They never expire and don't require any service to remain active.
