Frequently Asked Questions
How many taps do I need for an accurate reading?
We recommend at least 6–8 taps for a stable result. The confidence indicator turns green when accuracy is high.
Why does the BPM keep changing with each tap?
The tool calculates a rolling average of your last 8 taps. Each new tap refines the estimate. It will stabilize after a few consistent taps.
What is a tempo marking?
Tempo markings are Italian terms used in classical music to describe speed ranges — Largo (very slow), Andante (walking pace), Allegro (fast), Presto (very fast), etc.
Can I use this for live performance?
Yes. The tap target is large and the Space key shortcut works well on stage. The auto-reset means you don't have to manually clear between songs.
